Opened in 1958 through the efforts of summer residents Leo and Bella Capser, Madeline Island Museum was donated to the Wisconsin Historical Society in the late 1960's. More than fifty years after opening, the original museum looks very much like it did back in 1958, chock-full of fascinating objects and artifacts from one of the richest historical collections in Wisconsin.

The Bell Street Gallery features regional art from over 40 artists including paintings, pottery, jewelry, prints, and cards. The Bell Street Artbar is a cafe-style music venue filled with art and live music. Relax and enjoy an espresso, latte, or Bell Street Americano. We've also curated a robust wine offering along with regional beer, cider, N/A seltzers, and soda pop.
